Taksimetre Kontrol (the "app") is developed and operated by Ümit Çağlayan Kırkoç, who is the data controller. This page also serves as the information notice required under Turkish Law No. 6698 (KVKK).
In short: the app does not ask you to create an account, does not send data to any server of ours, and contains no analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The only exception is an anonymous purchase record created when you buy Pro (see "Purchase records (RevenueCat)" below). Your location is processed on your device for measuring and estimating and does not leave it. Your ride history is stored only on your phone. We cannot access this data in any way.
Data we collect and why
Apart from an anonymous purchase record, we as the developer do not collect any personal data from you. The app:
- does not ask for an account, login, name, email or phone number;
- does not make network requests to servers of ours, because we operate none;
- contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking tools; the only third-party SDK is RevenueCat, used for purchase records;
- does not sync with iCloud.
Data processed and stored on your device

If your device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) is on, app data may be included in iOS's own backup. That is controlled by Apple and you, and does not reach us.
Apple Maps (routes and place search)
Route and address searches for the fare estimate are made with Apple Maps (MapKit). For this, the text you type and your start and destination points are sent to Apple and are subject to Apple's own privacy policy (apple.com/legal/privacy). These requests do not pass through us and never reach us. Without internet no route can be fetched; tariff tables and driver cards work offline.
Sharing
"Send to a friend" and estimate sharing hand a text containing details such as plate number, destination and time to the iOS share sheet. You choose who receives it and through which app (Messages, WhatsApp, etc.); the text is then subject to that app's and the recipient's rules. We do not see or store this content. Sharing happens only when you tap it, and your location is not shared live.
Permissions and system features
- Location (While Using the App): asked at the moment you first need it, after a short explanation. If you decline, you can still estimate by typing addresses and use tariff tables and driver cards. "Always" permission is not requested.
- Lock Screen and Dynamic Island (Live Activity): the live fare is updated on the device; no push notifications through a server are used.
- Calling 153: the "Call 153" button opens the Phone app; the call is made only if you confirm.
- No camera, photos, contacts, microphone, health or notification permission is requested.
You can change permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Taksimetre Kontrol.
Third parties and purchases
Taksimetre Kontrol Pro is offered as a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Your payment details never reach us; Apple charges your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy applies. You can use the "Restore Purchase" button in the app to restore it. Apart from Apple Maps, Apple's purchase services and the anonymous purchase record (RevenueCat) described below, no data is shared with any third party.
If you turned on "Share With App Developers" in iOS settings, Apple may share anonymous crash reports with us; these reports do not identify you.
Purchase records (RevenueCat)
We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to keep a record of purchases and view sales statistics. When you buy Pro or restore your purchase, the App Store transaction details (product, date, price, country/currency) are sent to RevenueCat with a randomly generated anonymous ID. Your name, email, Apple Account, location and ride data are not sent; this record is not used to identify you, for advertising or for tracking. Pro access is still unlocked from the App Store information on your device, so Pro keeps working even if RevenueCat cannot be reached. Children
The app is a general passenger tool. Apart from an anonymous purchase record, it does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Estimate disclaimer
Amounts in the app are estimates based on the tariff and your phone's location and do not replace the official taximeter. Bridge, motorway and parking fees are not included. With a weak GPS signal, distance is approximate.
Your rights and contact
Because, apart from an anonymous purchase record, we do not process your personal data, requests for information, correction or deletion under Article 11 of KVKK (or equivalent rights elsewhere) are fulfilled directly on your device for all in-app data: deleting a record or the app is enough. You are still welcome to write to us with any privacy question. If you email us for support, your address and message are used only to reply to you and are not shared with third parties; to have that correspondence deleted, write to the same address.
