Frequently asked questions

Does the app need internet?

Route and address search need internet (Apple Maps). Tariff tables and driver cards work offline. Live metering uses GPS and does not need internet.

Why doesn't the amount match the taximeter exactly?

The app makes an estimate from the official city tariff and does not replace the official taximeter. Route, traffic, GPS quality, night or special tariffs and bridge or motorway fees can make a difference. Small differences are normal; for a large one, check the tariff's date and source in the Tariffs tab.

A tariff looks outdated or wrong. What can I do?

Each tariff shows its effective date and source in the Tariffs tab, and you can correct it by hand. Email us the value you believe is wrong with the city and class; corrections ship with a new version.

Where is my data stored? Is it backed up?

Your ride history is stored only on your device; it is not synced to a server or iCloud. If your device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) is on, iOS may include it in its own backup. Deleting the app deletes the records.

Will my history move to a new phone?

If you set up the new device from the old device's backup, your history comes along. Without a backup it starts empty, so back up before switching. Your Pro purchase is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored.

How do I restore my purchase?

Tap "Restore Purchase" on the Pro screen or in Settings. You must be signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy it. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription; refund requests go through Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).

Does live metering work with the screen locked? Does it drain the battery?

Yes. After you start a ride it keeps measuring with the screen locked and shows on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. To protect your battery, location stops when you end the ride and automatically after 4 hours at the latest. For location permission see iOS Settings > Taksimetre Kontrol.

Measurement looks wrong or I see a "weak location" warning.

In tunnels, among tall buildings or indoors GPS gets weak and distance is approximate. Keep the phone near the window, and make sure Location Services is on and Precise Location is enabled in Settings > Privacy.

I declined the location permission by mistake.

In iOS Settings > Taksimetre Kontrol > Location choose "While Using the App". You can still estimate by typing addresses without it.

What if I think I was overcharged?

The ride summary shows the plate number, time and expected amount. You can report an overcharge to ALO 153 with the plate and time; the app has a "Call 153" button. The app does not give legal advice.
